MR - MEDIUM RIGID
MR - Medium Rigid Truck Training Course - $650
This training program is designed for people who wish to attain a “Heavy Combination” Drivers licence. People seek this licence to upgrade their skills from a MR Licence or HR Licence, or as part of a job role as a delivery driver, courier, bus driver or other commercial role.
Heavy Combination vehicles are prime movers with three or more axles and towing a two axle trailer with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) over 9 tonnes, or any three axle rigid vehicle towing a two axle trailer with GVM of more than 9 tonnes.

MR vehicles include:
- Trucks and buses with a GVM more than eight tonnes and two axles
- Any towed trailer must not weigh more than nine tonnes GVM.
To apply for an MR licence, you must:
- Have held a class C licence, (except a learner licence) or equivalent for one year or more. Any time you’ve spent on a P1 licence counts, but you can’t practice to drive an MR vehicle, or upgrade to an MR licence until you hold a P2 or full class C licence
- Pass the MR knowledge test
- Pass an eyesight test

Step 1. Pass the heavy rigid knowledge test at your local motor registry or service NSW (practice the test here) RMS fee $47.
Step 2. Pass the eyesight test and purchase your HVCBA learners logbook class hr. RMS fee $27.
Step 3. Phone FHV driver training school 97212646 to book a date for your HR licence course.
Step 4. Attend and successfully complete your training course.
Step 5. Return to the motor registry, and apply for your upgraded licence. You will be given an interim licence while your plastic card is processed. RMS fee $27.
